Triathlon has a way of taking people further than they ever imagined. Helping athletes discover that for themselves is what makes this job so rewarding.
About Sam
Sam got hooked on endurance sports later in life after growing up playing tennis and basketball, never expecting he'd become a triathlete — let alone a coach. What started as a new challenge quickly turned into a passion, leading him to complete multiple sprint and Olympic triathlons along with many 70.3 races. He is still actively training and racing with more on the schedule.
Before triathlon, Sam spent 12 years as an elementary school teacher, and that background still shapes how he coaches today. He's focused on meeting athletes where they are, keeping things simple, and helping people build confidence over time. His goal as a coach is to help athletes build that belief in themselves while training in a way that's consistent, intentional, and realistic for their lives.
Sam lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts with his wife Riley and their dog Fern, who makes sure they get long walks in every day.
